From what we hear, Jason Reitman's fifth film feels more like his first time in the
director's chair, as his adaptation of Joyce Maynard's novel has earned the dreaded
comparisons to your standard Lifetime Original Movie. Is this why Paramount
ultimately decided to give the film an Oscar-qualifying release at the end of the
year and a wide release in the cold of winter?
